Are you emotionally resilient to cope with these testing times?

If not, you’re likely to suffer with some of the signs and symptoms of stress which can cause problems with your mental and physical health, which will have a negative impact on your business.

Not being able to switch off when you get home or working long hours with too much to do and not enough time to do it, can have its effect on your health.

Having to make uncomfortable decisions i.e. having to make people redundant or going through pay negotiations can also take its toll on your health if you aren’t emotionally resilient to deal with it.

Do try doing the following:
1.    Do something completely different to your job once a week so that you are completely involved in it, which stops you from thinking about work.
2.    Remember to smile at least 15 times a day!
3.    Take a lunch break, eat a nutritional lunch and drink plenty of water..
4.    Recognise any thoughts which are going around and around in your head and are not useful - seek a solution or stop them.
5.    Exercise, do something you can incorporate into your day and you enjoy.
6.    Think about the language you use, use ‘can do’ words, rather than ‘can’t’.

Don’t use the word ‘stress’ for your range of negative emotions, recognise when you are frustrated or anxious, happy or pleased. Understand your reaction to different situations and when you want to react differently in the future.  Learn to control your feelings.
